This induction week has helped me get used to the course i will be doing for the next to years, it has helped me mingle with my piers but most importantly this induction week has shown me the level intensity coming with this course and has shown me what i will be working towards and how i will get there. Overall this induction has made me feel more comfortable in the course I'm taking. we have done different drama elements such as physical theatre, a physical piece of drama performed with the body, physical theatre as also used for fitness and flexibility, pushing and challenging your body.
We also started our vocal training, vocal training helps an actor to be heard on stage by helping an actor project his voice when saying his lines. We learnt with this breathing exercises to help an actor when he is reading a long speech or line and these exercises can be used to calm an actor down before they walk on stage. We also devised a scene in pairs with a roughly given story line where we added our own details.
Since the age of five i have been in performance classes and different performance company's such as stagecoach and lipa and because of this i have been heavily involved in stage shows from a young age. From this my love for performing was born because i have been doing it for so long but when i became a little older i developed a strong passion for acing, the idea of stepping out your own world and becoming somebody els for a little while seemed incredible to me and so i decided from then on that is what i wanted to do as a career not just a hobby.
drama has been of my life for so long that it became something i was achieving in and and it just so at last minute i changed my course to betec drama and decided to do what i love. I have been inspired by actors such as Robert De niro, jonny depp, jack nicholson, and nicolas cage. i like a range of actors from differant generations. These actors have inspired me to act, they are dedicated talented people who express there charecters through the act of drama.
